Bitfinex Update 17/08/2016

As hoped, Bitfinex have given everyone a little more colour regarding what has transpired and, importantly for BFX token-holders, they have revealed what we already knew and expected … not all BFX owners will be allowed to convert into equity.

“We are actively engaged with efforts to convert certain qualifying token-holders to shareholders of Bitfinex and to redeeming the remaining BFX tokens through a combination of new capital and earnings.” – source: https://www.bitfinex.com/posts/135 

The key word is ‘qualifying’ – sadly Bitfinex cannot allow non-accredited investors to convert due to regulatory restrictions. Nor can they have 100’s of new shareholders.
